The Dutch NGO Coalition (Kinderrechtencollectief), the coalition of Dutch non-governmental organisations that work in the field of children's rights, is chaired by Defence for Children International. Defence for Children International holds the secretariat of the Dutch NGO Coalition. An important task is the writing of the NGO report for the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

The project KidzWise stimulates groups of children to take action concerning children’s rights by means of the internet site www.kidswize.nl. The national KidzWise Event takes place on November 20 every year. Groups of school children present their action plan to an expert jury. Ten groups of students can win a prize for their action plan composed of an amount of € 500,- and the support of a coach to carry out the action plan effectively.
