It is important that the Child Protection Code is workable for every tour operator. That it suits the reputation and capacity of the organisation and that it does not take to much time and energy for the organization to implement it. For this reason ECPAT developed texts for: contract clauses, travel information leaflets, brochures in hotels and handbooks for tour guides/ tour managers. ECPAT can help to rewrite these texts to be fitted for each organization.
In this document examples are given of organisations who adopted the Code.
ECPAT provides trainings concerning sexual exploitation of children in tourism. Since travellers can be faced with child prostitution on certain destinations, it deserves recommendation that this subject is incorporated in the training programme of tour guides/ tour managers and hostesses. ECPAT the Netherlands has developed standard training material (available in Dutch, English, Spanish and German) with a guide for trainers.
ECPAT NL produced a comprehensive brochure for professionals in the travel industry describes the problem of child sex tourism and the role of the travel industry in combating it. Besides general information on child sex tourism, the brochure also contains training materials and locations where child sex tourism occurs. Click here for the brochure.
